General
What can I store at L.D.S. Storage?
RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, motorhomes, boats, cars, trucks, semis and utility trailers in our parking; household goods, business stock and equipment in a sea can or shed; and bulky equipment or materials on open yard space.
We do not accept fuel, hazardous materials or anything illegal.
I live in Kamloops. Why store up the highway?
Louis Creek is less than an hour up Highway 5 from Kamloops, and it is on the way to the North Thompson’s lakes and Wells Gray Park, so for a lot of trips your RV or boat starts closer to where you are going. The yard has the room big rigs need, and every price is on this website.
Where is the yard?
At 4140 Agate Bay Road in Louis Creek, just south of Barriere on Highway 5 and less than an hour north of Kamloops. Turn east off the highway onto Agate Bay Road; the yard is on your left, just past Old Sawmill Court. There is a map on our contact page.
Can I see the yard before I rent?
Of course, any day of the week from 9 am to 5 pm. Please call to book a time, ideally a couple of hours ahead, and we will meet you at the gate.
Rates & billing
Is there a discount for paying up front?
Yes. Pay for a year up front and you get one month free: twelve months for the price of eleven. Every annual price is on the rates page.
Is there a deposit?
Sea cans, sheds and yard space take a damage deposit of half a month’s rent: $40 to $200 for sheds and sea cans. The deposit is non-refundable. Parking has no deposit.
How does billing work?
Rates are monthly, plus GST. Your first payment is due on move-in day, and a part month is prorated. Pay by e-Transfer or cash. To move out, give us 3 days’ notice, or at least 1 business day.
Do your prices include tax?
No. GST is added to every price on this site.
Access & security
When can I get to my things?
Any day of the week, 9 am to 5 pm, by appointment. Only our staff open the gate, so please call to book a time, ideally a couple of hours ahead, and we will be there to let you in.
How is the yard secured?
The yard is fenced with chain-link topped with barbed wire and watched by security cameras, and only our staff open the gate.
Do I need my own lock?
No. We supply the lock for sea cans and sheds.
RV & boat parking
How do I measure my RV or boat for parking?
Parking is priced by overall length. Measure from the front of the hitch to the back of the bumper, including anything that sticks out like a ladder, a spare tire or a motor, and round up.
Do I need insurance?
Yes. You will need to show proof of insurance for what you store. Many home and vehicle policies can cover items in storage, so check with your insurer.
Can I stay in my RV, or plug it in?
No. The yard has no power, water or sani-dump, and RVs cannot be lived in on site.
Sea cans & sheds
What is the difference between a sea can and a shed?
A sea can is a steel shipping container: tough, secure and big, in 20 or 40 ft lengths. A shed is smaller (8 × 8 or 8 × 12) with its own doors, handy for things you get to often. See them side by side, to scale, in the size guide.
Can I store a vehicle in a sea can?
Yes. A 20 ft sea can fits most small cars.
